1. Information We Collect

Account information: Email, age group, display name. No real names required.

Learning data: Lessons completed, quiz scores, safety challenge results, streaks, XP. Used to personalize your experience.

Build photos: Photos you voluntarily submit for AI verification. Stored securely and only shared on your public portfolio if you choose.

We do NOT collect: Real name (unless you provide it), school name, precise location, contacts, or browsing history outside the app.

2. COPPA Compliance (Users Under 13)

For users under 13, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act:

• Parental consent is required before account creation
• We collect only the minimum data needed for the app to function
• No behavioral advertising or tracking
• No data is shared with third parties
• Parents can review, delete, or restrict their child's data at any time via the Parent Dashboard
• Parents can contact privacy@torq.app to request data deletion

3. How We Use Your Data

• Personalize learning (adaptive difficulty, recommendations)
• Track progress (XP, streaks, achievements)
• Enable social features (leaderboards, community — display name only)
• Improve the platform (aggregate, anonymized analytics)
• Employer portal: only if you opt-in to be visible to employers

4. What We Do NOT Do

• We do NOT sell your data to anyone
• We do NOT run behavioral advertising
• We do NOT track you across other websites
• We do NOT share individual data with advertisers
• We do NOT use your data for AI training without consent

5. Affiliate Recommendations

Tool recommendations in the Toolkit are contextual (based on what lesson you are viewing, not your personal data). We earn a small commission on purchases through our affiliate links. This does not affect your price. No brand can pay to be recommended — selections are based on quality and community feedback only.

6. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on encrypted servers. Build photos are stored separately from account data. We use industry-standard security practices. In the event of a data breach, affected users and parents will be notified within 72 hours.

7. Employer Portal Data

Your profile is NOT visible to employers by default. You must explicitly opt-in to the talent portal. You choose what information is visible. You can opt-out at any time. Employers receive aggregate data only (never individual user tracking data).

8. Your Rights

• Access your data at any time (Settings → Download My Data)
• Delete your account and all data (Settings → Delete Account)
• Opt-out of employer visibility at any time
• Parents: full control over child's data via Parent Dashboard
